(1958 – 2024)
John R. Menz was a founding member of the Firm.
With courage and vision, Jack Menz established MBK&K in 2003 and was the unquestioned leader of the Firm. Jack had a distinguished career both before and after he founded the Firm, representing corporate and individual clients in sophisticated legal matters concerning contract disputes, securities regulation, real property, product liability, employment law, and in a variety of other areas. He litigated and arbitrated cases in federal courts, state courts, the American Arbitration Association, the New York Stock Exchange, and the London Court of International Arbitration.
Following his graduation from Columbia Law School, Jack served as Law Clerk to the Honorable John M. Walker Jr., then United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York. After his clerkship, Jack became associated with the law firm of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, where he worked in both the litigation and corporate departments.
In his sophisticated litigation practice, Jack skillfully offered corporate and individual clients both sound legal and financial advice and a fluent understanding of the terms, conditions and strategies involved in complex business transactions.
Jack was a dear friend and mentor to all of his colleagues.
